What is Verified by Visa?
Verified by Visa is an identity theft prevention program that gives you an extra level of protection when making an online purchase. Card users enroll by creating a personal password they will use when shopping online at a participating Verified by Visa merchant. Once your Verified by Visa password is activated, no one else will be able to shop online at a participating Verified by Visa merchant using your card without the password. Verified by Visa can stop unauthorized use before it has a chance to begin.

Why should I sign-up for Verified by Visa?
Verified by Visa adds an extra layer of protection for online shoppers. When the cardholder creates a personal password known only to them, the chance for unauthorized use is significantly reduced.

How much does Verified by Visa cost?
Verified by Visa is free to all ViewPoint Bank Visa Check Cardholders.

Will I need to apply for a new Visa Card to use Verified by Visa?
No. Verified by Visa will work with the cards you already have.

How do I enroll my card with Verified by Visa?
There are 3 ways to enroll. Online registration is available at the ViewPoint Bank website, or at www.visa.com/verified. If you have not registered your card before shopping online at a participating Verified by Visa merchant, you will be prompted to register during the checkout process.

How do I shop with Verified by Visa?
You won't have to do anything special. Verified by Visa automatically triggers your personalized window to pop up when you enter your Visa card number at participating Verified by Visa merchants. Look for your personal message, then enter your password and click "submit." Your information will be verified and the purchase process will proceed.

How easy is Verified by Visa to use?
Verified by Visa is easy to use. When you are shopping at a participating Verified by Visa merchant, a personalized Verified by Visa window will appear on the screen when you are checking out. Just watch for your personal message, then enter your password and submit.

What are the Verified by Visa password requirements?
Your Verified by Visa password must be four to 12 characters, either letters or numbers or a combination of the two. The password you create will not be case sensitive.

Can I activate more than one card?
Yes. Each Visa Check Card can be registered separately.

How do I know activation is secure and safe?
Personal and payment care information is transmitted using a high level of encryption (SSL) and is stored on our secure server behind a firewall to protect against unauthorized access.

I'm a Hotmail user and I contacted customer service at my card issuer to reset my password. I received an e-mail with a hyperlink that doesn't work. What should I do?
Hotmail accesses e-mail hyperlinks by opening new browser windows. This sometimes causes a browsers security features to detect that an external source is attempting to set and read cookies across domains. Hotmail users with Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 and cookie preferences set at default (Medium) or Advanced may see "Cookies Required" message when they try to use hyperlinks, you'll first need to close the e-mail, Hotmail and the "Cookies Required" window. Then, set your Microsoft Internet Explorer cookie preferences to low-or use the advanced settings dialog to allow third-party cookies. Next, open the e-mail again and click on the hyperlink to log in with your temporary password.

How will online stores know that my card is activated?
When you enter an active Verified by Visa card number at a participating Verified by Visa merchant, your Visa card number will be automatically recognized. This will trigger your personalized Verified by Visa window to pop up.

What if I forget my password?
Just click the "Forgot Your Password?" on the Verified by Visa password window and follow the instructions. If you still can't remember your password, you'll need to contact ViewPoint Bank at 1-800-578-9009 or 972-792-2950.

What is a password hint?
A password hint can help you remember your password if you forget or lose it. Your password hint can be 1 to 30 characters and may include spaces. It may not include the password itself and it is not case sensitive.

What is a personal message?
This extra security feature is a message of your choosing that appears in the Verified by Visa popup window, just above your password entry box, at participating Verified by Visa merchants.

Can I use Verified by Visa from any computer?
Verified by Visa works on any device with Internet access. You don't need any special software. Once your card is activated, Visa takes care of everything else. You will have to be sure that Cookies and JavaScript are enabled and that pop-up killers are disabled on your computer.

How does Visa protect the personal information I register?
Visa takes extensive precautions to secure your personal and financial information. The information you enter at Verified by Visa is used only to provide the Verified by Visa service. Visa utilizes a high level of encryption to transmit personal and payment information. And, that information is stored on a secure server behind a firewall that protects it from unauthorized access. Your registration data will not be shared with online retail merchants or merchants in other transactions for which Verified by Visa is used.
