How do I earn the highest interest rate each month?
Once you open your account AND sign up for online banking, a few simple requirements is all it takes to earn the highest interest rate:

1. Sign up for and receive Direct Deposit OR use Qwik Pay to make an online bill payment just once a month.
    
2. Sign up to receive your account statements electronically. (NOTE: For security reasons, you’ll need to log into online banking at least once every 6 months to continue getting online statements.)
    
3. Use your Visa Check Card at least 15 times per month for purchases. (Keep in mind that the transactions must post before month end to count toward that month’s total.)

That’s it!

By the way, we’ll pay you the highest rate during your first full statement cycle, just so you have time to get settled.

How often is interest paid?
Interest is paid monthly based on whether the requirements were met the previous month. For example, if the requirements were met in January, the qualifying rate will be earned for the balances in the account in February and will be paid at the end of February.

Will I still earn interest if I don’t meet all the requirements?
Yes. Check out our Deposit Rates to see the current base rate.

Is there a minimum balance to earn interest?
No. There are no minimum balance requirements.

Is there a service charge if I don’t meet the requirements?
No. There are no monthly service charges on this account.

How much do I need to have direct deposited monthly?
There is NO minimum dollar requirement on the direct deposit amount.

What is the requirement for Qwik Pay to be considered active?
That’s easy. Just ONE online bill payment per month.

Is there a charge for Qwik Pay?
No. Absolute Checking features FREE online bill pay.

Do ATM or automatic payments count as part of the 15 VISA check card transactions?
No. ATM and ACH transactions do not count. Eligible check card transactions include PIN-based and signature-based point-of-sale purchases.

How can I track the number of my check card transactions?
Just access your account online to see your transactions. Eligible transactions will be coded “CK CARD.”
Transactions must post to your account before the end of the month to count toward that month’s total.

Will I be charged fees at ATMs?
ViewPoint Bank will not charge ATM transaction fees at our ATMs or at foreign ATMs. But keep in mind that the ATM owner may still charge a fee.

Are checks really free with Absolute Checking?
ViewPoint Bank custom checks are free—one box per order. We think the custom checks are quite nice, but if you want something fancier—or more than one box at a time—there will be a charge.

Sounds great. Can I open more than one Absolute Checking?
Absolute Checking is limited to one account per primary owner. But if anyone else in your household wants to open one, send them over!

You’re a Texas-based bank. Can I open Absolute Checking if I don’t live there?
We appreciate your interest in Absolute Checking, but ViewPoint Bank is a community bank and as such is limiting Absolute Checking to those who live in the state of Texas.
